How long can respite care last?
Respite care can be arranged for different periods, depending on your needs. This could range from a few hours or days to longer periods of support.
Does respite care have to take place in my home?
Not necessarily. Depending on the care arrangement, support can be provided in the individual’s home or as otherwise agreed as part of their care plan.
Can respite care be arranged at short notice?
We will always try to accommodate urgent or short-notice requests, subject to carer availability and an appropriate assessment of the individual’s needs.
Does respite care mean my regular carer has to stop providing care?
No. Respite care is designed to complement existing care arrangements and provide temporary cover when a family member or regular carer needs a break.
